Seven years after Chester Bennington’s passing and the cancellation of the Blinkin Park tour, Mike Shinoda recently gave the green light for a possible reunion tour with Blink-182.
Shinoda responded to a fan on Discord about the possibility of touring with the pop-punk band, saying, “We’re totally open to playing with Blink. Great guys. I talk to Mark [Hoppus] often—he’s hilarious,” the rocker replied.
Blink-182 and Linkin Park were originally scheduled to perform together during the Welcome to Blinkin Park stadium tour in 2017, but Blink-182 canceled the co-headlining tour following Chester Bennington’s death.
Just a few months before the tour was canceled, both bands appeared in a video together titled ‘A First Date with Blink-182 & Linkin Park.’
Three months after Bennington’s passing, Blink-182 joined the remaining members of Linkin Park to honor their friend in a tribute show called Linkin Park and Friends. Now that Linkin Park has reunited with their new singer, Emily Armstrong, the only thing left is to hear from Blink-182 about a potential tour.
