Nikki Sixx recently shared a photo of his five-year-old daughter with wife Courtney Bingham on Instagram, explaining why he believes it’s better for her to listen to Taylor Swift than other artists in the music industry.
“Apparently, the back of my truck is the stage, and Ruby is reenacting Taylor Swift in concert for us. Very Wyoming,” he wrote.
“Honestly, I’d rather have her listening to Taylor Swift than 90% of the crap out there right now,” the Mötley Crüe bassist explained. “I think TS is a way better influence than so many other pop acts on kids. I’m sure the heavy metal kids will all get their panties in a wad.”
Sixx previously faced backlash from Taylor Swift fans for his tweets criticizing her response to a Ticketmaster controversy in November 2022.
The company canceled the ticket sales for Swift’s 2023 ‘Eras’ Tour due to what they called ‘extraordinarily high demand,’ which led her to publicly criticize the decision.
Soon after, Sixx suggested in a tweet that Swift was ‘whining’ as a marketing strategy to promote her ‘Midnights’ album and new world tour. “Is it just me or does Taylor Swift always seems likes she’s whining about something new every-time she’s gonna drop an album?” he commented.
Swift didn’t respond to Sixx, but her fans called him out and accused him of being ‘misogynistic’ toward the pop singer’s efforts to ‘stand up for herself.’ The conflict didn’t go beyond the online backlash, though.
