Perry Farrell Apologizes For Onstage Fight, Tracii Guns Responds: ‘It’s Bulls—t And F—k Perry’

Perry Farrell apologized for the fight during the show and Tracii Guns reacted on X.

“This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family, and friends for my actions during Friday’s show,” the singer wrote in a statement on Instagram.

Farrell added, “Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”

“I saw Perry Farrell’s excuse. It’s bullsh*t and F*ck Perry,” Guns wrote in his post. “Guitar frequencies are directional meaning they point forward only. They do not flood the stage. If it was to loud in his monitors or in ears that is his own fault or monitor engineer failure. He knows this.”

The frontman apologized a few hours after Jane’s Addiction canceled their tour. The band’s official note included a statement from Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Eric Avery. They said the tour was canceled because of “a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell.”

The band continued, “Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs… We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis.”

Farrell’s wife Etty Lau Farrell also shared a statement on Instagram after the incident. She wrote, “WHY: Perry’s frustration had been mounting, night after night, he felt that the stage volume had been extremely loud and his voice was being drowned out by the band.”

Etty Lau shared, “Perry had been suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat every night. But when the audience in the first row, started complaining up to Perry cussing at him that the band was planning too loud and that they couldn’t hear him, Perry lost it.”

“HOW: Clearly there had been a lot of tension and animosity between the members… the magic that made the band so dynamic. Well, the dynamite was lit. Perry got up in Dave’s face and body-checked him,” she further explained.

Jane’s Addiction started their first tour together in 14 years last month. Reports say tensions rose because Farrell’s long speeches frustrated Navarro. Last Friday in Boston, things got worse. During ‘Mountain Song,’ Farrell yelled at Navarro, and they argued through ‘Three Days.’

During ‘Ocean Size,’ Farrell got angry, walked up to Navarro, and pushed him. Farrell then punched Navarro on the shoulder. Crew members had to hold Farrell back as he tried to lunge at Navarro again. Farrell was taken off stage, and Navarro left too. The show ended early after about 11 songs.
