In response to a fan’s question about the band’s future following their retirement announcement, Cronin provided some new details. The fan had written in the comment section of one of Cronin’s Facebook posts, “One thing I wanted to point out that took me by surprise… KC said at the end of the show that they weren’t going anywhere and they would see us next year. Insinuating REO will continue touring come 2025. Spoiler alert I guess but I feel like the community deserves an explanation.”

Cronin replied: “You heard right. I believe the official announcement from Live Nation will be coming on December 6. I am not free to call it REO Speedwagon, but let’s just say that if you liked what you heard and saw in Corbin, you will not be disappointed! Stay tuned.”

Another user responded to the comment, stating, “Kevin has recently mentioned in some replies to fans comments that REO Speedwagon will still be the current 5 members. However, legally they have to change their name according to Bruce’s wife because Bruce is no longer with the band.”

Due to irreconcilable differences, the band had stopped touring, and since the announcement, Cronin has faced backlash from fans. The latest controversy came from his failure to ‘honor’ Bruce Hall. Cronin had shared memories with the late Quincy Jones and included a photo, but Bruce Hall was missing from it. This caused fans to ask why Hall was not included.

One fan commented, asking, “Why can’t you honor your brother Bruce Hall?” Cronin replied, “Or maybe the question is, why can’t he honor me?” When another user asked where Hall was, Cronin added, “Maybe you should ask Bruce…”

While fans will have to wait for the official announcement on December 6, the band’s farewell tour is currently set to end at The Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 21.
