Former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora has addressed recent criticism of his performance at the Rock For Responders concert in a statement on X (formerly Twitter). Some Bon Jovi fans expressed disapproval of his rendition of the band’s songs during the event.

A fan commented in support of Sambora: “Thank you so much Sammy Hagar and Kevin Cronin for your comments in support of our fave guitarist Richie Sambora. I get tired of the assholes who are trying to start sh-t and beat down the amazing musician and man Richie is.”

“Thank you, it’s ok,” Sambora responded. “All u can do is try your best, and do all you can, at all times.”

The exchange has highlighted Sambora’s recent musical activities and his relationship with his former band. New collaborations and ongoing separations have come into focus.

Guitar World reported Sambora’s notable collaboration at the Rock For Responders benefit concert. He performed the classic hit ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ alongside current Bon Jovi guitarist Phil X.

The performance featured additional musical talents. Guitarist Orianthi and drummer Matt Sorum joined the ensemble for the benefit show.

People covered the concert as part of a series of benefit shows for LA wildfires. Sambora demonstrated his ongoing commitment to charitable causes through this performance.

The event proved music’s power as a platform for community support. This remained true even amid fan controversies.

The recent Bon Jovi docuseries ‘Thank You, Goodnight’ revealed new information. According to Loudwire, Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi remain estranged with no recent communication.

This context adds significance to the fan reactions. The performance marked a rare occasion where Sambora publicly performed Bon Jovi material since leaving the band.
