Yesterday marked the 25th anniversary of Kittie’s debut album, ‘Spit.’ Frontwoman Morgan Lander took to Instagram to celebrate the milestone and hinted at exciting plans for later this year.
“Today is the 25th anniversary of the official release of our very first album ‘Spit,’ and January 11, 2000, was a day that we didn’t really think would have such a big impact on our lives. Yet here we are, 25 years later, still talking about ‘Spit,’ still reflecting on it, still thinking about it, and still listening,” Lander said in a video message.
She also teased upcoming news, saying, “We have a lot of cool stuff coming down the pipe this year in regards to ‘Spit.’ So, stay tuned.” But she didn’t reveal further details.
‘Spit’ was originally released by NG Records on November 13, 1999. After NG Records was acquired by Artemis Records, the album was re-released on January 11, 2000, featuring new artwork and photographs. It became the band’s biggest success, earning a Gold certification from the RIAA.
Kittie made a strong return in June 2024 with their first release in over a decade, the single ‘Fire.’ For 2025, the band has a busy schedule, starting with a tour in Australia alongside Jinjer in late February, followed by a European tour in the summer.
