Cradle of Filth frontman Dani Filth has addressed the band’s numerous lineup changes in a recent interview with Blabbermouth. The metal band’s vocalist clarified that most departures were voluntary due to the demanding nature of the band’s lifestyle.
“We sacked three people over the span of our career. And it was all a long time ago, like 20 years ago at least,” Filth explained. “People leave the band because it’s just a lot of commitment, a lot of hard work, a lot of traveling, a lot of mental disrepair.”
“As in the case of our previous guitarist, people leave to start families and find that the lifestyle is a bit too hectic,” he continued, “or they just think they can do it better or just drift apart.”
These revelations emerge at a significant time for the band’s evolution and adaptation to changes.
Recent Lineup Changes
The band experienced significant changes in 2022, according to Loudwire. Guitarist Richard Shaw and keyboardist Anabelle Iratni departed, making way for Donny Burbage and Zoe Marie Federoff respectively.
The new members have seamlessly integrated into Cradle of Filth’s signature sound and creative process.

The band will release their 14th studio album, ‘The Screaming Of The Valkyries,’ on March 21, 2025.
