How Did Lowe Learn The Truth?
Daisy Lowe was born on January 27, 1989. She was reportedly born due to Rossdale’s affair with Pearl in 1988, as the Bush frontman was already married with Gwen Stefani at that time.
According to Your Next Shoes, a routine medical observation revealed that her godfather, Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, was her biological father.
Daisy was 14 years old when she discovered the truth. She grew up believing fertility specialist Bronner Handwerger was her father. A medical examination revealed Handwerger and her mother Pearl Lowe didn’t share her O-type blood type. This led to a DNA test that confirmed Rossdale as her biological father.
Gavin Rossdale Didn’t Want The DNA Test
Irish Examiner reported that Gavin Rossdale initially resisted taking the DNA test. He threatened to cut ties with Pearl Lowe if she proceeded. The confirmed results even led to a temporary estrangement between the parties.
Rossdale’s wife Gwen Stefani was reportedly devastated by the news as well.
Accepting Rossdale As Her Father Was Hard
The discovery meant challenges for Lowe. “There is no handbook for finding out that your goddaughter is really your daughter or that your godfather is your father,” Daisy said candidly. Daily Mail reported that it was challenging for all parties involved.
Lowe found it difficult to see Rossdale transition from godfather to father. “It meant that we did have a really rocky start, but we figured it out,” Daisy explained. She said they worked hard to build a meaningful father-daughter relationship despite the beginning.

Hello Magazine notes that Daisy built strong relationships with her half-brothers – Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. These are Rossdale’s children with Gwen Stefani. She maintains regular contact through FaceTime and visits.
Rossdale, on the other hand, celebrates his daughter’s victories in life. Just 2 years ago, he posted a heartfelt message for Lowe’s 34th birthday, writing, “DAISY. Happy birthday to our sweetest girl. A most radiant and generous spirit. You bring the light wherever you go. We miss you all the time but today especially. We can’t wait to celebrate with you soon.”
