Former Ratt vocalist Stephen Pearcy has addressed the debate about political messaging in music performances through a statement on X (formerly Twitter). Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong altered lyrics during an Australian tour performance to deliver a political message.

“Why, no politics in music please. Never makes sense,” Pearcy stated in response to the incident.
