Mike Shinoda recently reconnected with the interviewer who failed to recognize him in a viral video from a few years ago.

During the premiere of ‘Arcane: League of Legends,’ Twitch streamer Ovilee May initially didn’t realize who Shinoda was. However, she quickly became excited upon recognizing him and even bowed to him on the red carpet.

At the event, May playfully interacted with Shinoda, engaging in humorous dances and posing for the camera while streaming live on Twitch. She commented, “You came up here and you didn’t tell me your name, so I don’t know your name,” to which Mike replied, “My name is Mike Shinoda. I play in a band called Linkin Park.”

Ovilee was visibly shocked when Shinoda introduced himself, stating, “I’m gonna need the camera to tilt down for a second. Thank you so much. Thank you for everything. You’re amazing. I apologize for my transgressions. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to the world.”

Recently, ‘League of Legends’ posted a new video on their official Instagram account featuring Shinoda and May’s reunion. “Hey guys, Ovilee here at ‘League of Legends’ Worlds in London. I’m gonna do an interview but I actually don’t know who I’m interviewing,” she began.

As she saw Shinoda approaching for the interview, she exclaimed, “Crap.” The video then cut to footage of their earlier interaction. “Mike, it’s so good to see you again,” May said. “Good to see you, too,” Shinoda replied.

Ovilee then asked, “You’re gonna take the stage for the Opening Ceremony for Worlds, gonna be singing the song. How excited are you for that moment?” Shinoda responded, “It’s such a big show. The fans outside are going nuts already, so, yeah, it’s really exciting.”

She continued, “Anything you want to shout out? Anything you want to say to the new or old Linkin Park fans who are excited to watch you guys perform?” Mike replied, “Yeah, I mean, we’re thrilled to be back. We’re thrilled about the new music. Thank you for all the support on ‘Heavy Is The Crown’ and ‘Emptiness Machine.’ Everything’s been better than we could have asked for. So, just the beginning.”

Linkin Park performed ‘Heavy Is The Crown’ on November 2 at the opening ceremony of the 2024 ‘League of Legends’ World Championship at the O2 Arena in London. The song serves as the anthem for the championship and marks the band’s first collaboration with Riot Games.
