Skid Row drummer Rob Hammersmith discussed the recurring topic of former vocalist Sebastian Bach in an interview with Chuck Shute. He addressed the band’s approach to questions about their former frontman during interviews.

“I think in a situation like that it’s almost like, ‘Does it add fuel to the fire?’ I don’t know. We don’t take the issue that serious until it’s forced upon us,” Hammersmith explained. “I don’t know if that’s for me. I think it doesn’t occur to me to say that.”

“I just feel like the topic has been covered. It’s been covered many many times. It’s been covered consistently in all honesty,” he continued. “Sometimes it surprises me that people continue to bring it up in situations. We should do that [ask interviewers remove questions about Sebastian Bach]. But for us it seems like a non-issue until somebody else makes it an issue.”

“From a fan perspective in a lot of we appreciate and we admire people’s passion and enthusiasm,” Hammersmith added. “But often times, the issue doesn’t bring out the best in people’s bedside manners. And that’s when it gets a little weird.”

The drummer’s comments highlight the enduring interest in the band’s relationship with their former frontman. This topic has maintained its relevance in the rock music community for over two decades.

The Original Split

Documentation from Ultimate Classic Rock reveals that a disagreement over a KISS opening slot triggered Bach’s 1996 departure. Bach had accepted the offer independently, leading to conflicts with his bandmates.

Internal tensions had been mounting before the split. The band members developed conflicting visions for their musical direction, which became evident in their final collaborations.

Post-Bach Era

Skid Row has welcomed several different vocalists since Bach’s departure. Official sources note the band’s participation in major events, including their role in the 2000 KISS Farewell Tour.

The band has maintained an active presence in the rock scene. Their discography continues to grow through new albums and extensive touring schedules.

Skid Row dedicates its energy to creating new music and delivering live performances. Hammersmith’s recent interview demonstrates the band’s mature approach to questions about their past lineup.

The band successfully connects with both longtime followers and new listeners. Their musical influence transcends any particular era or lineup configuration, solidifying their position in today’s rock landscape.
