Nikki Sixx, bassist for Mötley Crüe, shared a rare update regarding the band’s internal dynamics as they prepare for a massive summer tour. He revealed that because he, Tommy Lee, and Vince Neil all reside in completely different states, they no longer see each other outside of official rehearsals and active touring. “Back in California for band rehearsals. Tommy, Vince, and I all live in different states, so we really only get to see each other during rehearsals and on tour these days,” Sixx explained.

The bassist expressed both nostalgia and enthusiasm about the upcoming tour schedule. He noted the sacrifice of his summer plans in Wyoming. “As much as I’m going to miss spending the summer in Wyoming, I’m excited that Mötley Crüe has 33 shows lined up. There’s something special about playing outdoors on summer nights, and it’s always great to get out there and see our fans. Looking forward to seeing all of you soon,” Sixx stated.

The band’s upcoming tour represents a significant undertaking for the legendary rock group. Mötley Crüe continues to draw massive crowds decades into their career. The 33-date North American tour is dubbed “The Return of the Carnival of Sins.” It kicks off on July 17, 2026, in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. The tour marks a celebration of the band’s enduring legacy and their ability to command major venues across the continent. The tour name itself is a nostalgic nod to the band’s chaotic and legendary “Carnival of Sins” tour from earlier in their career. This signals that the summer outing carries historical weight for both the band and their devoted fanbase.

The extensive tour schedule spans from mid-July through September. The band will hit major markets across North America including stops in Buffalo, Toronto, the Northeast corridor, the Southeast, and extending into the Midwest and Mountain West regions. Early dates include performances in Michigan, New Hampshire, Maine, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Missouri, Minnesota, and Illinois. The tour continues through the fall season. The outdoor amphitheater venues selected for the tour align perfectly with Sixx’s mention of the special atmosphere of playing outdoors during summer nights. These venues provide fans with the classic concert experience that has defined Mötley Crüe’s touring legacy.

This tour marks a significant moment for the band. It demonstrates their continued relevance and drawing power in the live music landscape. The logistics of coordinating three members who maintain separate residences across different states underscore the dedication required to keep Mötley Crüe operational at this level. Despite the geographical challenges and the personal sacrifices involved, the band’s commitment to delivering 33 shows to their fans reflects the enduring bond between the members and their audience. This relationship has sustained Mötley Crüe through decades of rock and roll history.
