Frontman Ivan Moody expressed his gratitude for the accomplishment: “I’ve just seen some news that cannot wait. Our new single ‘Eye of the Storm’ from our new album ‘Legacy’ just went No. 1 on Billboard. Unbelievable. To you, the fans, to all of our family and friends, to Better Noise Music, to Billboard, and to all of the radio stations who supported us from day one, thank you from the bottom of my heart and the guys’ hearts.”

This latest chart-topper extends Five Finger Death Punch’s remarkable record for the longest streak of consecutive number one hits in the 45-year history of the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. The achievement cements their status as one of rock radio’s most consistent forces. The single was released on May 15, 2026, as the lead track from their highly anticipated tenth studio album, “Legacy,” which is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026.

The song features battering metal chugs and a driving, furious energy that showcases the band’s signature heavy sound. It explores themes of fear, regret, and inner peace, resonating with the band’s dedicated fanbase and radio audiences alike. This musical direction demonstrates the band’s continued evolution while maintaining the intensity that has defined their career.

Five Finger Death Punch now holds the third-most number one hits on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart overall. They trail only Shinedown with 23 chart-toppers and Three Days Grace with 20. The competitive landscape of rock radio underscores the significance of their achievement, as maintaining such consistent chart success requires both artistic relevance and sustained fan support. The band’s ability to continue producing radio-friendly yet heavy material has proven to be a winning formula throughout their career.

The release of “Eye of the Storm” comes at a pivotal moment for the band. The full “Legacy” album is set to arrive in just over three weeks. This number one achievement on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart provides strong momentum heading into the album’s release, signaling that the band’s fanbase remains as engaged and passionate as ever. The success of this single suggests that “Legacy” will continue the band’s tradition of delivering hard-hitting rock music that resonates across multiple generations of listeners.
