Kid Rock has announced his upcoming gospel-rock album, Halfway 2 Jesus, which features a collaboration with Eminem aimed at bridging political differences, as shared on YouTube. The album, set to be released on October 17, contains 17 tracks, including the song “7 Sins” featuring Eminem, and the newly released lead single “James 1:17 (Jesus Is King).”
In his announcement, Kid Rock shared details about the album’s tracklist and the release of its first single.
“The album cover and track list for Kid Rocks soon to be released album ‘HALFWAY 2 JESUS’ is here!” Kid Rock said. “‘JAMES 1:17’ (Jesus Is King) is available everywhere NOW! The official video premieres TONIGHT!”
He also discussed the collaboration with Eminem, highlighting their long-standing friendship despite having different political views.
“I’m proud of the guests who joined me, especially my old friend Eminem,” Kid Rock continued. “His verse speaks to something we’ve talked about and that really needs to be heard: we differ politically and on other things, but we’ve stayed friends through it all.”
He expressed hope that their collaboration would inspire others to maintain relationships despite differing opinions.
“We hope that sets an example for people who’ve lost friends or stopped talking to family because they think differently,” he added.
The album is scheduled for release on October 17, 2026.
The announcement is the latest chapter in a relationship between two Detroit artists that stretches back decades. Eminem appeared on Kid Rock’s 1998 track “F— Off,” from the breakthrough album Devil Without a Cause, and Kid Rock later made a cameo in Eminem’s 2013 “Berzerk” video.
The new collaboration comes after a long rock and country career for Kid Rock. Halfway 2 Jesus marks a notable faith-themed turn for the artist, with its 17 songs arriving on October 17, 2026, following the single “James 1:17 (Jesus Is King).”
Kid Rock said the project grew out of a personal desire to explore his beliefs through music.
“I kind of wanted to celebrate Jesus and my faith with the songs,” he said.
Politically, the two artists sit on opposite sides of the divide. Kid Rock is a supporter of Donald Trump, while Eminem has publicly criticized the former president, yet both have said their friendship has endured.
For fans, the announcement has drawn attention not only to the album but also to the unusual pairing of two artists who have rarely agreed in public. The release of Halfway 2 Jesus is expected to put that friendship, and the message behind “7 Sins,” in front of a much wider audience when the album arrives on October 17.
