Metalcore fans, this list is for you. Having started by melding the elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk, metalcore has shifted into a more melodic sound, which we can call modern metalcore today. Currents is one of the greatest examples of modern metalcore with its dynamic guitars and the influences of progressive metal and djent. If you like a little bit of everything in these genres, here are our song suggestions. We listed the top six Currents songs for you to not miss out on.

6. Remember Me

The track takes place in the newest album of the band, ‘The Death We Seek,’ and despite being one of the newest tracks, it succeded in getting the attention of metalcore fans by making it to the top ten listened Currents songs list. The track starts off melodic and slowly builds into the band’s signature sound. If you want to check out more recent stuff of Currents, this one track is for you.

5. Let Me Leave

Appearing on the 2020 album ‘The Way It Ends,’ the band succeded in showcasing their diversity of sound. ‘Let Me Leave’ appears as less heavier vocally and instrumentally, but more heavier lyrically.

4. Kill The Ache

Appearing in the same album, this one track will win the hearts of metalcore fans for its heavier introduction from the first second of it. It also takes place in the 2020 album, and not only Brian Wille’s vocals but the blasting drums through the chorus and the guitar riffs definitely make it worth listening to.

3. Never There

‘Never There’ is more of an emotional song compared to the rest of the songs in this list. It’s a short track, but will for sure get you hooked up to it if you are looking for the more emotional side of Currents.

2. Monsters

If you are into the heavier side of metalcore, this one track is the one for you. Currents did a good job in terms of the heaviness, and the song’s breakdown will leave you shocked. It’s a highlight in the 2020 album that showcases the heaviness of the band from start to end.

1. Better Days

Ending the list with another ‘The Way It Ends’ track. We can say the album has been a fan favorite. Although ‘Better Days’ starts off with a more melodic intro, it builds up to a heavier sound right before the chorus with Wille’s vocals, and once again, the lyrics never disappoint. If you are a metalcore fan who wants to start off with the popular ones, this track is the starting point.
