The Hives won’t be covering Oasis songs anymore.

“It turns out we won’t have to play Oasis songs now because they will be doing it themselves!” the band wrote in their Instagram post. “Good news for everyone and best of luck to the brothers who broke up from the brothers who didn’t.”

The Hives shared a video from one of their recent shows. The frontman Pelle Almqvist told the audience, “Anybody here ever heard of a band called Oasis?” He also asked the following after the big reaction, “Do you like Oasis?”

“Would you like to hear a song by Oasis?” the singer further asked. When the crowd said yes, he replied, “That’s cool but here’s one by The Hives.”

Oasis recently announced that they’re coming back for a 14-date tour of the UK and Ireland in 2025. They won’t be headlining Glastonbury or playing multiple shows at Wembley or Etihad Stadium as some rumors said.

Instead, their tour will visit stadiums in Cardiff, London, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Dublin in July and August. Tickets went on sale at 9 am on August 31. This tour is called the ‘domestic leg,’ and they plan to expand it to other regions later in 2025.

Before the news broke out, Liam Gallagher commented on social media about the reunion rumors. When someone mentioned the rumored venue, Liam replied with: “See you down the front you big fanny.”

Oasis warned on X that they will cancel tickets being sold for £6,000 for their reunion tour. They wrote, “We have noticed people attempting to sell tickets on the secondary market since the start of the pre-sale. Please note, tickets can ONLY be resold, at face value, via Ticketmaster and Twickets. Tickets sold in breach of the terms and conditions will be canceled by the promoters.”

The 2025 UK and Ireland tour dates for Oasis are as follows: July 4 and 5 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff; July 11, 12, 19, and 20 at Heaton Park in Manchester; July 25, 26, August 2, and 3 at Wembley Stadium in London; August 8 and 9 at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh; and August 16 and 17 at Croke Park in Dublin. The lineup for Oasis hasn’t been confirmed yet.
