Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider, who stepped down from the band’s upcoming comeback shows because of health issues and was replaced by Sebastian Bach, explained whether he owns the rights to Twisted Sister and clarified if he will be paid for the band’s upcoming live shows with Bach.

A Twisted Sister fan asked Dee Snider: “Honest question. Do you yourself own Twisted Sister, or is it a split? I wonder the same with Blackie Lawless.”

Snider responded: “No. The band does. But I’m not getting or asking for anything from the upcoming shows.”

Snider’s comments come as Twisted Sister prepares to continue its 50th-anniversary performances without its longtime frontman. The circumstances surrounding his departure have been linked to ongoing health challenges and the physical demands of performing live.

Snider described his resignation as “sudden and unexpected” and said the health problems were ongoing. He also pushed back against speculation about his condition, saying, “The rumors have run wild that I am on my deathbed. I am not.”

Twisted Sister announced on March 3 that former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach would front a selection of the band’s 2026 anniversary dates. The announcement followed Snider’s resignation because of what the band described as “a series of health challenges,” while Bach’s participation was not expected to interfere with his solo touring schedule.

The revised schedule includes several performances listed for late summer and fall. A listing on setlist.fm identifies an August 28 show at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey, while additional listings place the band at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer on September 4 and The Pavilion in Salem, Oregon, on September 6.

Twisted Sister’s longtime guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda brought Bach into the revised lineup after Snider’s departure. The band later expanded its fall schedule, keeping the anniversary performances active while Snider remains off the road.

Snider has also explained that he did not want fans to see him perform below his usual standard. “You won’t see me on the stage kicking ass like I used to because that will mess me up,” he said, adding that he wanted audiences to remember him at his best.

Snider’s answer about ownership does not provide a detailed breakdown of Twisted Sister’s trademarks, copyrights, or revenue arrangements. It does, however, indicate that he views the band as owning the name collectively rather than treating it as his individual property. His reference to Blackie Lawless reflects a similar fan question about band ownership, but no comparable W.A.S.P. ownership structure was detailed in the available reports.
