Dino Cazares recently shared his thoughts on Fear Factory’s song ‘Back the F*ck Up’ from their 2021 album ‘Digimortal’ on X.

When a fan asked if he disliked the song, Cazares clarified, “Don’t get it twisted, I never said I disliked the song. I said I didn’t like for it to be featured on the album, IMO it should have been a B-Side or a extra bonus track.”

Another fan then asked if there were songs Cazares grew tired of playing live over the years, especially from the band’s early albums. Cazares responded, “No I love them all.” ‘Back the F*ck Up’ was the only track on the album that wasn’t written by Fear Factory members. The song was written by rapper B-Real.

In a 2022 interview with Sense Music Media, Cazares discussed which of his own compositions he felt were the least deserving of the Fear Factory name. He said, “[Laughs] I don’t really trash-talk that stuff, because it’s still part of the catalogue, you know what I mean? Sure, I might not like certain parts of those records, but whatever, it doesn’t matter.”

He continued, “Of the stuff that I’ve created – well, the stuff that I helped create – one of the songs was called ‘Back the F*ck Up.’ It’s not that it’s a bad track, I just thought it was a bad track for the album. It should’ve been put as a B-side or, you know, an extra track or a bonus track or something like that.”

Cazares also revealed his thoughts on another track from the band’s ‘Obsolete’ album, saying, “Another track, which is going to be kind of odd for me to say, and it’s the reason why the song is so far back in the record, is the title track to ‘Obsolete.’ The actual song called ‘Obsolete.’ It’s probably one of my least favourite. The riff is pretty cool, the beat’s pretty cool, but I just think overall the song is not that great.”

He concluded, “Those are probably my two, out of the songs that I’ve wrote, that are probably my least favourite. Don’t get me wrong, it could be somebody’s favourite track.”

B-Real of Cypress Hill, who is featured on ‘Back the F*ck Up,’ added a hardcore hip-hop element to the song. Cazares and Olde Wolbers had previously collaborated with Cypress Hill on the band’s 2000 album ‘Skull & Bones.’
