In a post that was not in any particular order, Portnoy named ten albums from a variety of artists. His list includes: Opeth’s ‘The Last Will And Testament,’ Blood Incantation’s ‘Absolute Elsewhere,’ The Lemon Twigs’ ‘A Dream Is All We Know,‘ Redd Kross’ self-titled album, Leprous’ ‘Melodies of Atonement,’ Frost*’s ‘Life In The Wires,’ Neal Morse and The Resonance’s ‘No Hill For A Climber,’ Category 7’s self titled album, Kerry King’s ‘From Hell I Rise,’ and lastly, The Warning’s ‘Keep Me Fed.’

In addition to his favorite albums, Portnoy shared his top movie and TV series picks of the year. One notable mention was ‘Joker: Folie à Deux,’ with Portnoy commenting, ‘Yes, really’ in a playful nod. He also enjoyed ‘MaXXXine,’ ‘The Substance,’ and the long-running TV favorite ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm.’ Other shows on his radar included ‘The Curse’ and ‘Squid Game.’

Portnoy’s post wasn’t all about albums and movies; he took time to pay tribute to some of the legendary figures who passed away in 2024. He began by remembering his dog, Mickey, who passed away only two weeks ago, and his sister, Samantha Cattaneo. He also honored other influential names in the music world, including Paul Di’Anno, Phil Lesh, Quincy Jones, James Kottak, Steve Albini, Jack Russell, and Wayne Kramer, among many others.

For fans looking for more detailed recommendations, Portnoy directed them to visit his Facebook page.
