One of the possible pioneers of the metal scene, HammerFall came out in the same place where bands like In Flames, At The Gates and Dark Tranquillity were created: Sweden. The rockers helped keep metal alive in the 90s. Formed by ex-Ceremonial Oath guitarist Oscar Dronjak and ex-In Flames multi-instrumentalist Jesper Strömblad, HammerFall was complete with the later addition of the lead guitarist Niklas Sundin, bassist Johan Larsson, and vocalist Mikael Stanne.

Though fans seem to like their older stuff, they still actively make music in a way that can be called power metal anthems. If you are into power metal, these are the five greatest songs that you should hear and decide which is the best.

5. Blood Bound

‘Blood Bound’ is one of the songs to showcase the signature sound of HammerFall. Appearing in the band’s fifth studio album, ‘Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken,’ the track is characterized by its catchy chorus and energetic guitar riffs.

4. Glory to the Brave

This is where the band’s career started. The track takes place in the self-titled debut album and has a more melodic atmosphere, appearing as a power metal anthem in HammerFall’s discography.

3. Any Means Necessary

‘Any Means Necessary’ is a more modern and heavier track compared to others. The track also shows itself off by being a more catchy song than the rest of this list.

2. Last Man Standing

You might have heard of this song before if you are a fan of power metal. With its uplifting atmosphere and strong rhythm, it’s one of the classic HammerFall tracks.

1. Hearts on Fire

Being one of HammerFall’s most well-known songs, ‘Hearts on Fire’ is a high-energy anthem. The lyrics are uplifting, and the song overall radiates positivity. The combination of melodic elements and powerful guitar work makes it a standout track in power metal.
