Five Finger Death Punch’s Ivan Moody recently addressed a controversy and requested privacy from fans.

“I want to take a second of your time and tell you that the last post was not meant to cause harm and conflict,” the frontman said in a video message on Instagram of the post he later deleted. “The idea was this: There are boundaries to be had, right? Our personal lives and what we do professionally are two entirely different things.”

He went on, “And when either one of those is jeopardized, what we actually need is respect. We have worked a very long time, very hard. We bled, we shed tears and we were humbled every day by the amount of love we get from our fanbase. We are and we continue to do things behind the curtains to keep you all happy, to keep us happy.”

“So, when I open up about stuff, it’s because I feel like I’m sitting at my dining room table with you. And that’s the way it should be. However, again, understand the fine line between personal and professional. I get very intimate and close to all of you with my lyrics. So I hope that that’s enough for you,” Moody explained.

The singer concluded his video message with, “Without taking too much time, we’re very grateful for every single one last of you. And I’m not just saying it. Open the eyes. We appreciate you. So, take a breath, enjoy the day. Until I see you, be well.”

Even though he deleted the post, a fan commented, “Totally agree dude was way out of line. Should’ve never contacted your management and should’ve stayed the course and waited till the surprise came out. I don’t blame you one bit. I would’ve been upset too. Enjoy the content. Keep it coming if you wish.”

This suggests that the band was planning an announcement, but a fan contacted their manager to find out what it was. FFDP will perform at Arizona Bike Week on April 5.
