Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix recently spoke with Rock Antenne in a new interview. He was asked about Ronnie Radke canceling his band’s shows in Vienna and the backlash he received for it.

“That’s what happens when you cancel shows,” Shaddix said. “The fans were disappointed, the fans are bummed out. I’ve had to cancel shows, I had to cancel a whole tour straight up. I came out on tour and I felt so bad, it was such a terrible moment. It was just hard. I felt so terrible. Cancelling shows is no fun and the fans are disappointed and it’s like some things are out of our control. I don’t know exactly why he canceled, I didn’t know.”

He then shared his thoughts on Falling In Reverse’s cover of Papa Roach’s song ‘Last Resort.’ “I gotta tell you, sometimes I’m busy making records and doing my thing, but I will say that I’m super grateful and stoked about what he did with ‘Last Resort’ and the cover with that because it’s a powerful one. I think the way that he reimagined the song was cool. It really cut to like the emotion of the lyric.”

The hate towards Radke started when he canceled five shows, including the November 26th show in Vienna at the Gasometer and the November 28th show in Prague. It was the second time the band had canceled shows during their European/UK fall tour.

Later, Falling In Reverse announced they would no longer be performing at the Nova Rock Festival.

Radke responded to the news on Instagram by posting a picture of a canned Vienna sausage, with both his band’s and his own name on the label, tagging the festival in the story. He also posted a video to address the cancellations and claimed he would cancel the entire tour. “You know what? Rest of the tour is canceled. I don’t feel like playing. This isn’t… I’m not Playboy Cardi, okay? We don’t… Not Axl Rose, we’re not doing that. You understand. There’s reasons. We have reasons to believe that Vienna fans are soft as shit. That’s the reason why we’re not playing,” he said.

However, the tour continued as planned.
