Kelly Osbourne recently opened up about her relationship with her sister, Aimee Osbourne, following the death of their father, Ozzy Osbourne, during an appearance on the We Need To Talk Podcast.
Kelly said the sisters are not close and described them as polar opposites. She also spoke about the resentment she has carried from not having the kind of older-sister relationship she wanted.
“We’re not close, but I do respect her enough to, you know, keep her anonymity, if you understand,” Kelly said. “I believe there’s a reason for everything. It just wasn’t meant to be for her.” She added that she felt Aimee may have been embarrassed by the family, while acknowledging that the two are very different.
“One of the hardest things of my life is I never got a big sister, and I had to learn how to do certain things that a big sister should have taught you on my own,” Kelly said. “I do have a resentment there. I’ll have that forever. There is no hope for reconciliation.”
Kelly also said that sharing blood does not necessarily mean relatives must remain closely connected. “I respect her. I accept her, but we’re different, and that’s okay,” she said, adding that people have the opportunity to choose who their family is.
Aimee has long maintained a more private life than her siblings. She moved out at 16 to avoid appearing on The Osbournes, the MTV reality series that premiered in 2002. Aimee previously said she was still trying to understand who she was amid the chaos of family life and did not want that experience portrayed on television. She later released music under the name ARO.
Ozzy Osbourne died in July 2025 at age 76. Kelly publicly mourned her father, calling him “the best friend I ever had.” The family has also honored him together, including Aimee, despite the siblings’ ongoing distance.
Kelly’s comments suggest that the family’s shared grief has not resolved the longstanding divide between the sisters.
