When it comes to the world of female renowned metal bands, Maria Brink is one of the singers that quickly comes to mind. Starting to perform at an early age, Brink rose to fame with In This Moment and has been gaining even more recognition since the band’s journey began. In This Moment Wanted a Guy Singer

Though now we all know Brink thanks to In This Moment, there would have been some other singer in the band if she hadn’t been chosen. In fact, the band was initially looking for a male singer. Joining In This Moment in 2005, the rocker ultimately became the singer for the band.

‘River of Fire’ is Her Favorite to Perform

Appearing in the band’s seventh studio album, ‘Mother,’ the track ‘River of Fire’ means a lot for the singer. As she stated in interviews, it’s the song she loves performing the most because it’s a really personal and emotional song. In addition, she loves it because she loves the way it connects with the fans.

Brink Collaborated with Five Finger Death Punch

Brink does not only make music in In This Moment, but also contributes to the other rockers’ music. The singer appeared on the 2013 studio album of Five Finger Death Punch for a collaboration. The two parties made the song, ‘Anywhere But Here.’

Brink’s an Animal Activist

She cares for animals. Brink is a vegetarian and is concerned about animal rights. As a part of her activism, she also works with PETA to end the support for the use of animals for entertainment purposes.

She’s Inspired by Other Female Rockers

Just like how fans and other artists are inspired by her vocals and stage performances, Brink too, was inspired by many other female rockers. Some of these names include Lzzy Hale, Stevie Nicks, Pat Benatar, Janis Joplin, Joan Jett, and Taylor Momsen.

Brink Worked As a Barista and Bartendress

Earlier, the rocker worked as a barista in a cafe, and also a bartendress at a pub. You might think this was before her career with In This Moment started, but it was actually during her musical years.

Brink Has Won Several Awards

Maria Brink and In This Moment received nominations for various accolades, such as the Grammy Awards, Alternative Press Music Awards, and the Revolver Golden Gods Awards. Among their victories is the Radio Contraband Award for Song of the Year in 2013 for their song ‘Blood.’
