Nikki Sixx is embracing some balance after Mötley Crüe’s summer on the road. In a new Facebook statement, the bassist reflected on the band’s completed tour and explained that his next chapter will focus on family, rest and creative work, with no shows on his immediate horizon.
“Starting to settle back into home life, and damn, it feels good. No tours or shows on the horizon for a while, which means I get to trade airports, tour buses, dressing rooms and questionable catering for family time, creative time and sleeping in my own bed. Not a bad deal.”
Sixx looked back warmly on the summer, highlighting the fun and memories that came with another stretch of touring.
“What a f*cking fun summer. We laughed, played loud, made some great memories and somehow survived another trip inside the rock ‘n’ roll circus.”
For Sixx, recovering from that experience means slowing down and making room for life away from the stage. He plans to return to writing and creating, though he did not specify what projects he will pursue.
“Now it’s time to recharge, get back to writing and creating, and most importantly, be home with my family. Turns out balance isn’t such a terrible idea after all. Who knew?Only took me 45 years to figure that one out.”
He also thanked the fans who supported Mötley Crüe throughout the tour, closing with a hint of uncertainty about the band’s future.
“And to all the Crue Heads who showed up night after night—thank you. You brought the energy, the noise and the love like you always do. We never take that for granted. Best fans in the world. See ya down the road hopefully. One thing about Motley Crue is you never know what’s next.”
Sixx offered no concrete announcement about Mötley Crüe’s next move. For now, his message points to a break after the summer tour, with time to recharge before whatever comes next.
