Rudy Sarzo Reacts To Ozzy Osbourne’s Rock Hall Speech And Missing Mentions

Rudy Sarzo reacted to Ozzy Osbourne’s recent Rock Hall speech on X, noting the mixed feelings among fans.

One fan tagged Sarzo, expressing, “Finally. Wish he would of thanked Bob Daisley, Lee Kerslake, Jake E. Lee, Tommy Aldrich & Rudy Sarzo.” In response, Rudy mentioned, “He did thank Randy Rhoads.”

Osbourne was first inducted into the Hall of Fame as a member of Black Sabbath in 2006 and received a second honor on October 19 as a solo artist, an eligibility that has been in place since 2006.

During the ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio, Billy Idol, Maynard James Keenan, and Jelly Roll paid tribute to Osbourne’s solo career, accompanied by a band featuring bassist Rob Trujillo, Zakk Wylde, Wolfgang Van Halen, Chad Smith, guitarist Steve Stevens, and producer Andrew Watt.

Ozzy began his thank-you speech with, “F*cking love you guys. Well, here we are. You know what? I can’t believe I’m here myself. Let me get the thank yous out of the way, because I’m not going to bore you with a long, drawn-out f*cking monologue.” He continued, “I’d like to thank whoever voted me into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for my solo work. A great thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

Jack Black, who inducted Ozzy, remarked, “Sure, you could go stream Post Malone and Taylor Swift and get all the warm hugs you need for your broken hearts. OR you could stay up all night and get your minds blown by Ozzy’s entire catalogue for the first time. Holy sh*t! You kids are so f*ckin’ lucky.”

While Osbourne acknowledged Randy Rhoads in his speech, some fans on Reddit felt the event overly emphasized Rhoads, arguing that Ozzy missed the opportunity to thank Dana Strum and Bob Daisley, both significant contributors to his career. Although Jack Black hosted the event, he skipped over the Jake E. Lee era. Wolfgang Van Halen performed ‘Crazy Train,’ a song by Rhoads.

Recently, Lee was shot while walking his dog. Osbourne released a statement regarding the incident, but some fans questioned its authenticity, noting that he did not mention Lee in connection with ‘Bark At The Moon.’
