Sammy Hagar addressed concerns about Lou Gramm’s live performance with Foreigner on Instagram.

“Demi Lovato joins previous Rock Hall Inductees, Slash, Sammy Hagar, and Chad Smith as they hit the stage to celebrate the career of 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, Foreigner,” stated the official Instagram account of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. “Don’t miss music’s highest honor LIVE on October 19 all the way from Cleveland, Ohio.”

A user commented, “I was hoping we would see the original singer Lou Gramm perform; without his great voice, Foreigner would not have been a success.”

Hagar responded to the comment, saying, “Lou Gramm will be there doing a duet on. I want to know what love is.”

In April, Mick Jones mentioned that there are no hard feelings between him and Gramm. In an email to Billboard, he shared his thoughts about being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024, stating that he would be fine with Gramm attending the ceremony.

The musician noted, “On a personal level, I have no hard feelings toward Lou. We did perform together at the 40th anniversary concert. It has been so many years now since Lou left Foreigner; I like to think that those ill feelings are in the past. There is power in letting go of hard feelings and getting on with your life.”

“Why carry the burden of hard feelings? It serves nothing in the long run. I do plan to attend. I’m sure my whole family will be there,” Jones added. “As to whether I get up on stage and perform hasn’t really been decided as yet. In some ways, it might be nice just to be there to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy being inducted.”

Later, Poison singer Bret Michaels offered his private jet to Gramm, but the Foreigner singer declined the offer. In an interview with Kiki Classic Rock, Gramm explained why he turned down the free jet.

The singer said, “He made an offer but I thought I was going to have a show the night before the Rock Hall and he offered to fly me in his personal jet, which I thought was outrageous. I was going to accept, and we decided that I wanted to be in my best voice possible for the Rock Hall, so we declined the show the night before and I’m driving.”

Foreigner was added to the Hall of Fame weeks after the first list of inductees, following protests from rock fans who felt the band was overlooked.
