British heavy metal legends Saxon have unveiled the first UK and Ireland dates for their upcoming Gods of Thunder World Tour. The announcement comes with the promise of a spectacular stage production that will transport fans back to the band’s most iconic era.

Saxon are excited to announce the “Gods of Thunder World Tour” – Part 1 UK & Ireland dates with Castles & Eagles Production. The tour will unfold across February 2027 with 11 confirmed shows throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. Major cities on the itinerary include Wolverhampton, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield, Cardiff, Bristol, Southampton, and London. Further international dates are expected to be announced soon.

Saxon will revive their legendary 30-foot mechanized Eagle for all UK and Ireland shows. The exception is Cardiff, where venue restrictions prevent the prop from being used. The iconic Eagle was originally constructed in the early 1980s as Saxon prepared to tour their seminal album Denim and Leather. Midlands-based company LSD built the Eagle using airport runway landing lights.

Biff Byford expressed the band’s enthusiasm for the tour: “We wanted to make the Gods of Thunder UK & Ireland tour extra special and what better way than to fly our beloved Saxon Eagle again… Get ready for take-off!” The revival of this legendary prop underscores the band’s commitment to delivering an unforgettable experience. It combines their powerful music with the theatrical elements that have defined their career.

The mechanized Eagle stands as a testament to Saxon’s innovative approach to live performance. It has been a centerpiece of the band’s touring legacy since its creation in the early 1980s. The decision to bring it back for these 2027 dates demonstrates the band’s dedication to honoring their heritage. The production matches the scale and ambition of their music.

The Castles & Eagles production concept ties together the visual spectacle with the band’s powerful heavy metal sound. This creates a complete sensory experience for audiences. The February 2027 dates represent the first confirmed leg of what promises to be an extensive world tour. The band plans to expand the Gods of Thunder tour to additional territories in the coming months.

Fans across the UK and Ireland can expect a setlist that draws from Saxon’s extensive catalog. The theatrical presentation combines with their music to showcase why they remain one of heavy metal’s most visually distinctive live acts.
