“Well, from playing with him on this tour, I know that Carlos Santana is a very, very strong player,” Clapton stated. “He kept me on my toes.”

“I’m not a competitive guitarist,” he continued. “I’ve settled into my own pace. If I have to change my ways in order to top a poll somewhere, I’d rather not play.”

The guitar icon expressed his hesitation about comparing musicians. “Basically, though, I wouldn’t say I like to give a specific opinion on someone else’s playing. Not only is it unfair to another musician, but I don’t keep track anymore.”

Their recent collaborative performances and projects have validated this candid acknowledgment of Santana’s prowess. The mutual respect between these legendary guitarists continues to shine through their work.

The performance showcased their distinctive styles blending seamlessly. This musical chemistry reinforced Clapton’s earlier praise of Santana’s abilities.

Anniversary Collection

The Richlyn Group documented the expansion of their collaboration into special guitar editions.

The partnership produced several exclusive instruments. A notable creation includes the PRS Private Stock Carlos Santana I model in Santana Orange, featured in the Crossroads Guitar Festival’s 25th Anniversary Collection.
