In This Moment singer Maria Brink was raised by her biological mother and her mother’s partner, an experience that positively shaped her life and career.
A Source Of Inspiration

Brink has shared that her mothers were the biggest inspirations of her career. “The first two woman I am going to say are my mothers. They are strong, powerful warrior women who have taught me everything that I know.”
“They inspire me, they never doubt me or my crazy ideas. They showed me the boundaries that they have broken down and things they have conquered and continuously are a support system in my life and are my inspiration,” she added.
Other than her mothers, she also named Queen Elizabeth I, Joan of Arc and Mother Teresa as her inspirations.
Contributions To ‘Mother’

Other than fully suppporting her career choice, Brink’s two moms also contributed to the band’s 2020 album ‘Mother.’ The title track, named in their honor, features them singing harmonies, adding a personal touch to the song.
Brink described this collaboration as a deeply meaningful experience. “All those harmonies you hear in the back, that’s them singing,” Brink told Loudwire Nights in 2020. “My one mother plays guitar acoustic all the time and she’s always singing, that’s her thing and she loves it. And then my other mother is very shy and has a beautiful voice, but very quiet and timid. She’s very shy to sing things sometimes, so it was a big deal to get her on there.”
Love For Music

Brink credits one of her mothers for introducing her to rock ‘n’ roll, including Tina Turner and Stevie Nicks. Growing up, she attended concerts and developed a deep love for music and strong female performers.
Beyond her musical career, Brink has been a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, inspired by her upbringing with two mothers.
