Amon Amarth, the death metal powerhouse named after J.R.R. Tolkien’s Mount Doom, has built a considerable financial success alongside their musical legacy. They evolved from their earlier incarnation as Scum to become one of metal’s most recognizable acts.

According to Lambgoat, the band’s 2016 album ‘Jomsviking’ became their most successful release. It sold over 100,000 copies and secured the No. 19 position on the Billboard 200 chart. The album moved approximately 21,000 units in its first week alone.

This success wasn’t isolated. Metal Blade Records reported that their 2013 release ‘Deceiver of the Gods’ matched the No. 19 position on Billboard 200. It sold 17,000 copies in its opening week.

These impressive numbers have significantly contributed to the band members’ individual wealth.

5. Jocke Wallgren

Drummer Jocke Wallgren is the most recent member to join Amon Amarth. He became part of the lineup in 2016, becoming the newest contributor to the band’s continued success. The drummer has built a net worth of approximately $2 million since his professional journey began in 2005 with Vituperation.

4. Johan Söderberg

Guitarist Johan Söderberg maintains a lower profile in the band’s songwriting hierarchy and leadership. Still, his two-decade-plus tenure has resulted in significant financial success. Söderberg has earned a net worth of $4-4.5 million since joining the band in 1998.

3. Ted Lundström

Bass player Ted Lundström joined the band in 1992, replacing Petri Tarvainen. He has built a net worth of approximately $5 million. According to Famous Birthdays, his long-standing membership and contributions to the band’s signature sound have established his financial position.

2. Olavi Mikkonen

Founding member and guitarist Olavi Mikkonen has accumulated an estimated net worth of nearly $6 million.  He’s not recorded to have appeared in any side projects outside of Amon Amarth, but as one of the band’s primary songwriters, the guitarist have secured a nice financial standing.

1. Johan Hegg

Vocalist Johan Hegg leads the pack with an estimated fortune of $6.5-7 million. His wealth extends beyond music. In 2014, Hegg demonstrated his business acumen by co-founding Grimfrost, a company specializing in Viking Age artifact reproductions. He further diversified into acting with a role in ‘Northmen: A Viking Saga.’ These eventually made him the band’s wealthiest member.
