Neal Schon announced that Journey has postponed shows in Des Moines and Lincoln due to illness. The announcement came via a statement posted on Facebook. The postponement follows shortly after vocalist Arnel Pineda revealed significant personal conflicts regarding his involvement with the band’s farewell tour.

“Dear friends, Des Moines and Lincoln – we’re sincerely sorry we had to postpone our shows due to illness,” Schon said. “This is never an easy decision, and we know many of you made plans, traveled, and were ready to sing with us.”

Pineda recently disclosed in an interview that he had expressed concerns to the band about continuing with the tour. “Back in 2024, I said to [the band], ‘If you’re planning to do a farewell tour, you better tell me, because my issues and my personal problems are getting more intense, and I don’t know if I want to go with you,'” Pineda explained. He added that he had requested to retire due to personal problems. The band provided no response to his request.

Schon concluded by thanking fans for their patience and loyalty. He stated that the band hopes to return and make those performances unforgettable.

The postponement of these shows marks another chapter in Journey’s ongoing Final Frontier Tour. The tour has faced multiple scheduling challenges since its inception. While the band has attributed the current delays to health-related concerns, the timing raises questions about the broader context of the tour and the band’s future direction.

Journey’s Final Frontier Tour kicked off in February 2026. The tour is scheduled to conclude this summer, according to American Songwriter. The tour represents a significant commitment from the band, with performances planned across multiple cities throughout the spring and summer months. The postponement of the Des Moines and Nebraska dates has created scheduling disruptions that the band is working to address.

The tour’s timeline reflects Journey’s determination to complete their farewell circuit despite various obstacles. The band was given time to rest with hopes of resuming the tour schedule, as reported by American Songwriter. Salt Lake City performances were scheduled for April 12 and remained on the calendar at the time of the postponement announcement.

Pineda’s recent statements highlighted his personal struggles. However, the current postponement appears to be strictly health-related rather than connected to those personal concerns. The postponement is attributed solely to a band member’s illness, according to American Songwriter. This distinction separates it from the vocalist’s earlier concerns about his role in the farewell tour.
