Nightwish singer Floor Jansen discussed the band’s 2023 announcement that it would take a break from touring and addressed whether the group has plans for any activity in the near future.

“No, there’s nothing planned. That is the thing with Nightwish — we’re on a temporary hold. But there’s no communication about when something’s gonna happen,” Jansen said.

Jansen’s comments suggest that Nightwish’s touring hiatus remains open-ended, with no announced timetable for the band’s next live appearance.

Nightwish announced in June 2023 that it would stop touring after the Human. :II: Nature. cycle and would not hit the road to promote its next album, Yesterwynde, which arrived in 2024.

The band presented the decision as a move intended to protect its long-term future rather than an indication that Nightwish had broken up.

The group’s earlier statements also left the duration of the break unclear. Nightwish multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley said in 2024 that the hiatus had “no time limit” and that the band had “absolutely no plans at all” to return to live performance.

The pause concerns touring rather than a confirmed end to Nightwish’s recording career. The band’s decision was focused on live shows, while its future as a recording act was not ruled out.

Jansen has remained active outside Nightwish during the hiatus. The vocalist has continued her solo career while Nightwish remains on a live break.

For now, Jansen’s latest statement provides no indication that Nightwish will return to the stage soon. The band’s next move remains unannounced.
