Former Ratt drummer Bobby Blotzer’s new project has been revealed.
The drummer has played with Ratt from 1999 to 2014 and has been in retirement since then. Now, it was recently announced his return to the touring scene would be under the name Bobby Blotzer’s Rat Attack. The news was first revealed on his social media accounts, stating that he was bored of being retired and wanted to get back on stage, hence the new project. Blotzer also touched on his and Stephen Pearcy’s efforts to bring Ratt back in his post.
More recently, the lineup of the new project was revealed by Blotzer’s Ratt co-manager Jason Green. Bobby Blotzer’s Rat Attack will allegedly consist of Lynch Mob’s Gabriel Colon, DC4’s Matt Duncan, Ohio’s Dougie ‘Licks’ Manross, who is 24, and Holy Mother’s Mickey Lyxx. The lineup was not officially announced by the drummer himself, so it’s uncertain whether or not there will be any changes.
The rocker wrote in his earlier post:
“Hi friends. I’m bored on my retired scene over here. I wanna see you guys! I’m planning a tour and with all it’s gonna take to bring this, I’m hoping and presuming that you’re hoping to see me too. Lol! I’ve decided to bring it again. I’m working with some really awesome musicians to be announced soon.
If you came out and saw my version I toured in 2016 you’ll love this. Emphasis on integrity of original and emphasis on sounding like the records sounding that was always my motto even through the original days. I think I hit that mark in 2016 and the original days maybe not as much.”
