Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Doc McGhee, the longtime manager of KISS, are facing a lawsuit for wrongful death, as reported by TMZ.

In 2021, the band’s longtime guitar tech, Francis Stueber, died two days after testing positive for COVID-19. Now, Stueber’s family is suing the band on the grounds that KISS didn’t take the necessary safety precautions while touring and they also claim that McGhee failed to send medical personnel to Stueber’s hotel room, where he was held in quarantine.

The virus, reportedly, started spread among the tour personnel and crew in August 2021, after Stanley contracted it. Then, a few months later, Stueber tested positive in Detroit and the band told the late guitar tech to quarantine himself in a Sheraton hotel.

However, Stueber’s family claims that KISS members and McGhee failed to check on the late tech and help him get medical treatment, as his dead body was discovered by another tour personnel two days after he was quarantined.

The family is currently suing Stanley, Simmons, McGhee, Marriott Hotels, and Live Nation for damages. No statement has been issued by KISS regarding the allegations.

However, they did cancel their Dubai concert yesterday due to unforeseen circumstances, so, it might be safe to theorize that this ‘surprise’ lawsuit, perhaps, caught the band off guard.
