Former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing recently spilled insight about the band while accusing them of excluding him. The rocker shared that during the band’s 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, he and the former drummer Binks were kept separated from the band because they were only ‘the guests’ of the band. Appearing on Sirius XM, Downing said:
“We were kept segregated – flights, dressing rooms, hotels, the red carpet. So, it was just total segregation.”
Before getting on stage, the band’s guitarist, Richie Faulkner, went back to the dressing room to chat with the rocker. In addition to the guitarist, another rocker went in to say ‘hi,’ but no other members of Judas Priest did. He continued:
“Richie was great. He came into the dressing room a couple of times. We had a good few laughs. Lots of people were coming to our dressing room, it was good. Dave Grohl popped his head in because he’s such a lovely guy. So down to earth, and that was funny. We had a few laughs. And it was great. Didn’t see any of the other [Judas Priest] guys, but there it is.”
In addition to the latest details, the rocker earlier revealed that he was also excluded from the decision-making when he was a part of the band. He claimed that the band had conversations about staying as a four-piece rather than calling him back to the band while clarifying that he would never work with them again.
