“I think it’s also like whether it’s Billie Joe [Armstrong] or Post Malone, the best dudes are bringing other genres to what they do,” he explained. “He’s playing punk but he grew up listening to Everly Brothers and Def Leppard and KISS. So okay, it’s going to sound a little different and Post was doing the more kind of hip-pop thing until now. But he grew up listening to grunge and country and rock and everything in between. So you bring something new to what you’re doing.”

“I think that’s kind of what makes the lights go on and people kind of turn their head and go, ‘Oh wait hold up now, that’s something I got to see,’ and that’s you know that’s what I love about Green Day it’s all that attitude and energy from great punk stuff but they have great songs too great melody,” Evan added.

Evan also mentioned during the interview that he was a massive fan of the band and that he loved the album ‘American Idiot.’

‘American Idiot’ came out back in 2004 and became one of Green Day’s most popular albums. So far, American Idiot has sold an amazing 16 million copies around the world.

“Life had changed so quickly that I was always feeling like, ‘Did I enjoy that moment enough?’ So I think that with ‘Idiot,’ it was, ‘Let’s get the most we can out of this moment as far as feeling gratitude and feeling like we did something special,'” Billie Joe Armstrong said in an interview about ‘American Idiot.’

“Because we always wanted to have what our heroes had, like the Who making ‘Tommy’ or something along those lines. Every band wants to have a ‘Sgt. Pepper’s’ type of moment. And ‘Idiot’ was that moment for us,” he added.

In other news, the band recently revealed that they would be releasing an ‘American Idiot’ documentary soon. There are not many details about the documentary yet.
