“It’s so funny that a lot of people think we came out of nowhere and were manufactured by the music industry to make them loads of money,” Stringer said. “That would probably be one of the worst investments from any company, ever.”

“After 12 years playing in bands, we’ve finally gotten to the point where we can pay rent,” he continued, highlighting the band’s long journey to success.

The band’s authentic journey in the metal scene reveals a story of persistence and gradual growth. This stands in contrast to any notion of overnight success.

Stringer and vocalist Courtney LaPlante formed Spiritbox in 2017 in Victoria, British Columbia. The band emerged after their departure from Iwrestledabearonce, as noted by Last.fm.

The band dedicated their early years to building their sound and fanbase independently. This commitment demonstrated their focus on organic growth rather than industry shortcuts.

Commercial Breakthrough

The band’s debut album ‘Eternal Blue’ marked a legitimate breakthrough on the charts. Billboard documented the album reaching #13 on the Billboard 200 charts.

This milestone emerged after years of independent touring and music releases. The achievement reinforced Stringer’s statements about their gradual path to success.

Current Success And Recognition

Rock Sound highlighted the band’s development of a unique sound. Their music blends elements of djent, post-metal, and pop sensibilities.

Their current prominence stems from years of dedication. The band’s success story proves their rise resulted from musical innovation and persistent hard work rather than industry manufacturing.
