Testament’s Alex Skolnick Calls Out Elon Musk’s Descent Toward ‘The Dark Side’

Alex Skolnick recently supported actor Stephen Fry’s criticism of Elon Musk.

In an interview with Britain’s LBC, Fry explained his decision to leave X (formerly Twitter), citing Musk as the reason. He criticized the billionaire’s inability to handle criticism, saying, “I began to see signs of woeful and worrying qualities in this Musk man. And I saw him veering off into the kind of—You know, I just don’t want to use words like ‘narcissistic personality disorder’ because he’s not, I’m not a psychiatrist.”

“But the kind of self-obsessed inability to take criticism that one sees in Trump and one knows from certain people when they’re drunk, but not normal people when they’re sober or thoughtful. And certainly, it’s not a very British thing, and I just thought, ‘This man is going off the rails severely. And it seems he’s gone further and further towards the dark side.’”

Skolnick retweeted a clip of Fry’s interview, commenting, “All this. Beware of anyone unwilling to accept any criticism, acknowledge ever having been at fault, apologize or evolve their views. That is the LAST type of person who should hold any powerful position. Accepting this type of behavior is weakness. Resisting it is strength.”

Skolnick often criticized Musk since he took over Twitter and rebranded it as X by accusing him of “turning Twitter into a flaming wreck” with his policies.

In response to someone defending Musk with reference to his business achievements, he wrote, “More than one thing can be true. His past success, building of companies, etc., is undeniable. So is the fact that his Twitter reign is atrocious, the worst takeover of all time, financially & otherwise. They’re not mutually exclusive. Howard Hughes innovated too, then melted down.”

Skolnick’s and Musk’s political views have also clashed through the years, with Musk supporting Donald Trump and Skolnick opposing his presidency.
