Ex–Dream Theater drummer Mike Mangini issued a new statement after unusual content appeared on his official Facebook page. Posting a detailed explanation on Instagram, Mangini clarified the situation for fans who had noticed odd activity on his Facebook Stories — specifically, images of Asian models. He later confirmed that his account had been hacked.
In his statement, Mangini wrote, “My official Facebook page has obviously been assumed control by the great computers of the Priests of Temples of Syrinx (Hacker Division). I had no idea that they had so many ‘Saints’ of their own. They so graciously shared with my page followers. Who knew there was a Saint Ling-Hanes for Underwear and a Saint Tao-Cantaloupe for cantaloupe growth. I feel more educated now.”
Maintaining a sarcastic tone, he continued, “I am all set receiving private messages about it, although I’m so happy that people figured out that those are not Saints I subscribe to and that you know ‘it is most unusual that I come before you so’ – 2112.”

Mangini also warned fans to disregard anything coming from his Facebook page until the situation is resolved, saying, “Please ignore my Facebook page until I make an official post from this account and that account that Control has been restored to my team and me.”
Fans responded to his announcement with humor and support. One fan commented, “This is the funniest and classiest way to handle that situation.” Another added, “No wonder the photos of Asian women in swimwear, lol.”
Mangini emphasized that he was not responsible for any inappropriate posts shared during the hack and reiterated that fans should remain cautious.
The drummer parted ways with Dream Theater in 2023 following Mike Portnoy’s return. Mangini expressed no ill feelings toward his former bandmates, stating in an interview on Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk, “All I know is the decision was made and when I heard it, all I pictured was, ‘Oh, this is an original guy going back to his band. Uh, okay. All right. Let’s go to the next thing.’”
Dream Theater is currently taking a brief hiatus from touring and is set to resume with their 40th Anniversary Tour beginning January 30, 2026, in Bengaluru, India.
