In a recent post on X, L.A. Guns frontman Tracii Guns acknowledged the Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh’s role in making rock music popular.

Guns wrote in his initial message:

“I’m going to immerse myself into Joe Walsh’s James Gang era for the next six weeks and see what I come out with.”

Then, a comment under his post said:

“I love Joe Walsh. He played a request for me in 1976 with the Eagles.”

The guitarist responded, noting Walsh’s impact on rock music:

“Wow, really? He looked at me at the Roxy in LA once and smirked at me. He’s the link between 1968 and 1972 when rock went from the garage to the arenas. Everyone looked at what Joe was doing and said, ‘Ok yeah, we’re gonna do that too.'”

According to Guns, Walsh also had different contributions to the rock genre. He claimed in a 2022 interview with AL.com that Jimmy Page was inspired by the Eagles musician for using a cello bow on his guitar. He said:

“There is a really interesting video of Joe Walsh not using a bow, but it’s ‘Turn To Stone’ and like 1970, ’71 and his solo band. He does all those effects before Page does those effects with the bow. So when I stumbled upon that, I figured that Page saw that and said, ‘Oh, that’s a little more organized,’ and put something together.”

In other news, Tracii’s debut album, ‘Solsorte,’ with his new band Blackbird Angels, has just hit the shelves on September 8. The band also features Todd Kerns, who is known for his work with Slash and Myles Kennedy.
