“See U in a bit NY Don’t believe everything you read -except that I’m here to Play,” the guitarist wrote in the caption, sharing a photo from a show.

“$10k a night hotel rooms?” a user asked in their response to the rocker’s tweet. “Bs and what do you care. I pay for it,” Schon replied.

In a new lawsuit, Cain accuses Schon of taking a $1.5 million advance from promoter AEG, despite Cain asking for only $500,000. He claims Schon spent excessively on hotels and airfare.

According to the keyboardist, he ignores the $1,500 per night limit and spends up to $10,000 per night for hotel rooms. Cain also says Schon used the company credit card for personal expenses and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on private jets for himself, his wife, and the crew.

Court documents were filed on July 30, the day after the band played in Cleveland, Ohio, during their co-headline tour with Def Leppard, supported by Steve Miller Band and Cheap Trick.

An independent business manager was hired in May but couldn’t manage the spending due to a conflict between Cain and Schon. Schon reportedly told the manager not to contact him.

Another claim is that there is a ‘toxic internal environment’ on their tour. “Rather than focusing on the Band’s performances during a major international tour, the Band’s business manager, lead vocalist [Arnel Pineda], and crew members now find themselves caught in the middle of the directors’ disputes, afraid of performing their job responsibilities, and pressured to align with one director or another,” Cain’s filing read.

In 2022, Schon sued Cain for blocking his access to the company’s credit card and delaying payments. Cain counter-sued by saying he acted to prevent Schon from misusing the card. Later that year, Schon also sent a cease-and-desist letter to Cain after he performed the band’s song at Trump’s Mar-A-Lago resort.

Journey recently canceled their UK and Ireland tour because of problems they couldn’t control. They emailed ticket holders to say refunds would be given.
