Quiet Riot bassist Rudy Sarzo has completely shut down speculation about former guitarist Carlos Cavazo rejoining the band. Cavazo previously declined a reunion offer decades ago, and Sarzo’s recent comments make clear that this door remains firmly closed.

When asked whether Cavazo could return to perform with the group, Sarzo provided a clear answer. “When Frankie and Kevin got together back in, I believe 2004 or 2005, they asked Carlos to join and he declined. That’s when they brought in Alex and he’s been there ever since,” Sarzo explained. He further emphasized his position: “My answer is I came into the group with three members who are still there. Members that were chosen by the previous members and Kevin. I respect that. I’m being very clear. I’m respecting what I was asked to come into.”

Sarzo’s comments reflect a deep respect for the decisions made by late Quiet Riot members Kevin DuBrow and Frankie Banali. These leaders shaped the band’s direction in the 2000s when they recruited Alex Grossi as guitarist. His stance makes clear that any potential reunion with Cavazo is not on the table, as the bassist views the current configuration as the legitimate continuation of the band’s legacy.

Sarzo has maintained a strong presence in Quiet Riot’s touring schedule in recent years. He has performed at major festival appearances and concert dates throughout 2024, 2025, and into 2026. His dedication to the current iteration of Quiet Riot demonstrates that the band remains focused on moving forward with its established members rather than revisiting past configurations.

Alex Grossi has solidified his position as the band’s guitarist following his recruitment in the mid-2000s. He continues to be a central figure in Quiet Riot’s performances. The current lineup, which includes Sarzo on bass and Grossi on guitar, represents the band’s official touring and recording configuration. This stability has allowed Quiet Riot to maintain a consistent presence in the rock music scene.

Sarzo’s respectful but firm stance on the matter closes the door on any lingering questions about classic-era reunions or lineup changes. His emphasis on honoring the choices made by DuBrow and Banali underscores a broader principle within the band: the current members represent the authentic continuation of Quiet Riot’s legacy, and that principle will guide the band’s future direction.
