Reb Beach, Whitesnake guitarist, shared insights about the band’s touring future in a recent interview with The Rockpit. The frontman David Coverdale canceled their tour with Scorpions three years ago due to exhaustion.

“Look, it’s all up to David. I’ll tell you what I know. David — was it three years ago now? — he called me two weeks before the Scorpions tour and he said, ‘I’m just exhausted, darling. That’s it. I’m exhausted and I just can’t do it. I’m so sorry,'” Beach explained. “And he canceled the tour two weeks before. And then he sold his publishing for 50 million dollars around the same time.”

“He told me to keep my equipment at his house, in case we do something else, if something could come up. ‘But just leave enough so that you can tour, if something comes up.’ And I’m, like, ‘Great.’ Well, it’s been three years,” Beach continued.

“I’ve always been under the impression that if he does do something, it’s gonna be five nights in Vegas. That he can do. But he does hate the traveling; it does exhaust him. So I don’t see him going on another European farewell tour and ending that the way we should have, because it really was a shame how that whole thing ended,” he added.

Whitesnake remains inactive following their incomplete farewell tour plans. Several significant developments have marked this period of reduced activity, affecting both the band and Coverdale personally.

Health Challenges

Findings from Music Times revealed Coverdale’s battle with serious health issues. A severe sinus infection in 2022 significantly impacted his vocal capabilities.

The veteran rockstar faces additional physical challenges. His ongoing struggle with a torn rotator cuff and arthritis has made extensive touring increasingly difficult.

Future Projects

Ultimate Classic Rock noted that Whitesnake’s touring future remains uncertain. However, Coverdale maintains his musical involvement through other projects, including the upcoming ‘Still Good to Be Bad’ box set.

This strategic shift allows the band to preserve its legacy. The new approach accommodates Coverdale’s current capabilities and preferences.

Band Status

Blabbermouth reported that Whitesnake isn’t officially finished. The band will carefully consider their future activities.

A Las Vegas residency emerges as the most viable option for future live performances. This arrangement would enable the band to continue performing without the demands of extensive touring.
