In a series of posts on X, M. Shadows clarified the situation about Avenged Sevenfold’s concert rescheduling in Chula Vista, California.

Just before the band’s performance on October 7, and after the opening acts Kim Dracula and Falling in Reverse had already played, they had to postpone the show because they announced that the singer had gotten sick. However, the fans are not happy about the new date as the show is scheduled for Thursday, as the band announced on their social media:

“Chula Vista, we’re heading back to you on 10/26. This time with Atreyu. See you next week. Existing tickets from 10/7 will be honored. If you can’t make this new date, please reach out to your point of purchase.”

The frontman responded to the backlash on his official X account, explaining the situation:

“Chula Vista – its a no win situation for us. The venue is not available on Friday or Saturday despite people saying it is… also it’s Halloween Weekend; most people have plans. We have to turn this show around within the week, or we lose our stage, crew, and lighting rigs. The next tour looks like it’s starting on the East Coast and not coming west. So it’s this, or wait a year or longer. Also, you can get refunds from Ticketmaster if you can’t make it.”

Then, a fan comment said that there’s no need to explain because what the group did was really nice. They appreciated that the group rescheduled the event even though they didn’t have to. M. Shadows wrote in his response:

“Just putting facts out there for people who wanna know… For some, it doesn’t matter either way… They are gonna be mad. We postpone a year, people will be mad, cancel, still mad… They can get refunds, not much else we can do.”

Still, another fan said that they were not happy about this arrangement, as the fans are the ones who have to pay for something rather than the band or the organizers. The singer also replied to that comment, expressing how the process works for them:

“Um, no. We are renting the venue twice, paying every staff member twice, keeping our crew on an extra week, keeping out our full stage, production, and gear an extra week, and trucking it all across the country… and getting paid once… it does not come close to covering it.”

After performing at Clarkston, Michigan, on October 18 and in Chula Vista on October 26, Avenged Sevenfold will be taking a break from its concert calendar for this year. The band has no planned shows for the next year yet.

Below, you can see the tweets and the photos they shared on their Instagram account.
